About the church
The facilities at the church include a children's play area, disabled toilet facilities and a car park to the front. There are no steps, just be careful on the bumpy path leading in.
The church itself can be traced back to the early 12th century. The present building was largely built in the 14th and 15th centuries, with additions in the 19th century. Derbyshire alabaster features prominently in the interior decoration.
The reredos of alabaster and semi-precious stone is mentioned in many church guide books, as is the r rail and alabaster lectern. The church is set in picturesque, peaceful countryside. It is surrounded by fields on all four sides, yet is only minutes away from the bustle of the city centre. The beauty of the church and its setting makes it an extremely popular venue for weddings.
